The Human Connectome, RSA lecture
Sebastian Seung, neuroscientist and author of Connectome: How the Brain’s Wiring Makes Us Who We Are (2013), summarizes his work in this Royal Society for the Arts (RSA) lecture. He argues the brain is a connectome, a complex set of connections between neurons, and is plastic so that neural networks change moment by moment. The Human Connectome describes that point where nature meets nurture, where we see the expression of the interaction of genes and environment (GxE), because our environment is constantly reshaping the neural connections within our brains.
